Otomi Pillow Case

The indigenous Otomi tribe in Hidalgo, Mexico is known for their intricate and colorful embroidery. The symbols and patterns on Otomi embroidery and cutouts can be traced back to prehistoric roots in the area. Symbols range from animals and plants native to the Tenango area, abstract designs, people, and mythological creatures.

• Each Otomi textile is embroidered by hand and a single piece can take weeks to years to complete. Since each pillow is hand made, each pillow will differ in design from the one pictured above.

• Hand-embroidered in México by the Otomí people.
